Celtic Festival and NEXT FRIDAY LAST PRACTICE

Next Friday, May 20th, we will have an additional fun last practice before the Celtic Festival from 5-6 at Pueblo Fields. I will hand out Roster Photos, and depending on field space we'll scrimmage & have a team meeting on our strategies for the tournament. The tournament is on Sunday. Please be sure to arrange Carpools or perhaps some parents can volunteer can use Lyle's van - I will already be up in ABQ because I will be there on Sat for the college, high school, woman's and mens teams. You do have to pay to get into the festival- the rugby players (your kids!) are already paid for.

If your kids were not at the Field Day, please let me know (or tell them to let me know), send them to practice with a jersey, and I'll take their Roster photo.

Scrimmage this Saturday at 10:30!

There was a time confusion for this Saturday, it turns out the High School Boys game will be at 12, so we will scrimmage before them. Plan to be at Sullivan Field around 10:30, we will just play two 15 minute halves for the Alphas (9+ years) and two 7 minute halves for the Pups. Please have your kids bring their jerseys, mouth guards, and cleats. 

The game will be at Sullivan Field, before the High School Boys, please stay and watch the High School Boys so the youth can watch some real rugby!

Come to Overlook 12-3 for the field day! We are going to scrimmage, and do some fun activities.

BRING MOUTH GUARD AND CLEATS!

We are also going to play next weekend at Sullivan before the high school boys game (~4pm) so we can watch them.  The high school girls might play too.

Opportunity to learn about Rookie Rugby

Apologies for the late notice, but this Monday starting at 7:45 am demonstrations will be conducted at the elementary schools to learn about USA Rookie Rugby.

Please contact Lyle Shay at 505-310-4522  if you can come, it's a great opportunity to learn about Rookie Rugby and learn to do demonstrations. Demonstrations will be continued throughout the week and parents are encouraged to participate.

Rugby will be starting @ 5 at Pueblo starting this week

First Week Over!

The first two practice went great!

All players were picking up rugby- but make sure you eat your veggies because next week we are going to drop  kick it up a notch and start introducing:
1. Forming into a wing when it's called under 7 seconds.
2. Ball handling skills (reduce the butter fingers!)
3. COMMUNICATION! ("what's your name again? PASS IT HERRRRE! ")
